Investment Funds and Asset Management
This subchapter discusses the advice of law firms to investment management companies (Kapitalverwaltungsgesellschaften, or KVGen, formerly named Kapitalanlagegesellschaften, or KAGen, in English simply investment companies) on their activities in Germany. This ranges from setting up companies in the first instance through to ongoing (often regulatory) advice, including fund activities, fund mergers and conversions, global custody, marketing, and special funds, which are also increasingly regulated.
Tax-specific advice and structuring of funds is frequently carried out by specialists and is therefore discussed in the chapter on ?tax. Further information can be found in the chapters on ?insurance and ?corporate litigation.
